Official CSI resources for PMT: course page, curriculum, exam credits, and current route-status checks around CIRO and CIM.
Use these links as your source of truth for PMT. That matters more now because PMT has a current route note on the CSI course page around January 1, 2026 CIRO changes and possible CIM-related use.
PMT sits in the deeper discretionary portfolio-management lane, so the official source set matters most when you need to confirm whether you are using it for advanced portfolio-management development, CIM-related progression, or an outdated CIRO-approval assumption.
| Source | Use it for |
|---|---|
| PMT course page | Official PMT overview and the current route-status note around CIRO approval and possible CIM use. |
| PMT curriculum | Official chapter map for portfolio-management topics, mandates, alternatives, and reporting. |
| PMT exam credits | Official exam structure, weighting, pass mark, and attempt limits. |
| CIM requirements | Official CSI designation-reference page if your reason for keeping PMT is CIM-related rather than CIRO approval related. |
| Source | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| PMT course page | current route note, especially the January 1, 2026 CIRO change |
| PMT curriculum | whether your review order still matches the official chapter structure |
| PMT exam credits | current question count, timing, pass mark, attempts, and weighting |
| CIM requirements | whether you are really using PMT for a CIM-related reason instead of a CIRO approval reason |
As of April 17, 2026, CSI says that effective January 1, 2026 PMT is no longer acceptable for the purposes of CIRO approval with an Investment Dealer. CSI also says there may be circumstances where the course may still be accepted for purposes of the CIM designation. If route fit matters to you, treat the current PMT course page and the CIRO proficiency site as the controlling sources.
| Step | Why it works |
|---|---|
| start with the course page | it tells you whether PMT is the right route for your use case now |
| move to the exam-credits page | it tells you how the 100-question paper is weighted |
| use the curriculum page last | it gives the detailed chapter order once route and weighting are clear |
| then move into exact web practice | that is the right stage to train speed on the live structure |
| If you mainly need… | Better first instinct |
|---|---|
| deeper discretionary portfolio-management and operating-model depth | PMT |
| a narrower advanced wealth-analysis lane | AIS |
| a broader wealth route before the advanced lane | WME Exam 2 |
| designation-related portfolio progression | confirm the current CIM relevance on the official CSI pages first |
PMT at all?, answer that on the course page first, because the current CIRO/CIM split matters more than it did in older prep notes.
