Use these official resources as your source of truth.

Quick links:

Official source set

ResourceWhy it matters
Series 9/10 exam page (FINRA)Best starting point because Series 10 is one half of the combined supervisory path.
Series 9/10 Content Outline (PDF)Best source for the current Series 10 weighting and the distinction between the Series 10 and Series 9 halves.
SIE exam page (FINRA)Relevant because SIE is part of the combined registration path.
Series 7 exam page (FINRA)Relevant because Series 7 is a corequisite.

What to confirm before you book

  • Confirm that you need the Series 9/10 sales-supervisor lane rather than Series 24 or a different principal path.
  • Confirm your SIE + Series 7 status before you assume the registration path is complete.
  • Confirm that Series 10 is only one half of the combined path and that both halves must be passed within the required window.
  • Confirm the live combined outline from FINRA, not from older split summaries.

Route-choice check

Series 10 is the broader sales-supervision half of the Series 9/10 path, but it is still not the same as the General Securities Principal route. If your role requires broader principal authority beyond sales supervision, fix that route question first.

Strongest use of the official source set

Use the official pages in this order:

  1. Start with the Series 9/10 exam page and outline because Series 10 is not a standalone FINRA page.
  2. Confirm the SIE + Series 7 path and the combined Series 9/10 registration logic before you set a test plan.
  3. Use the guide Study Plan and Cheat Sheet for recall.
  4. Return to the rule links only when you need official language for a specific supervisory issue.

Common weak resource habits

  • Treating Series 10 like a standalone exam instead of one half of Series 9/10.
  • Forgetting that sales supervision is narrower than the broader Series 24 route.
  • Spending too much time on small communications details before mastering the account and trading supervision blocks.
  • Reading rule text before understanding which half of the combined path the issue belongs to.
