Hiring Qualifications and Statutory Disqualification

Review pre-hire review, registration history, and statutory-disqualification screening for Series 4 personnel supervision.

Series 4 expects the options principal to verify that newly hired personnel are eligible to work in the options business. That includes pre-hire investigations, review of registration and work history, and screening for statutory disqualification. The principal cannot supervise options activity safely if the people in the role are not properly vetted first.

The better answer usually is the one that treats hiring as a compliance decision, not just a staffing decision. If the applicant’s history suggests a registration or disciplinary issue, the firm needs clarity before the person is permitted to function in the business.
