Series 65 Resources — Official Links, Enrollment Steps, and Adviser-Law References

Official NASAA and FINRA resources for Series 65, including exam overview, content outlines, enrollment, scheduling, accommodations, and exam-policy references.

Use official sources to verify current Series 65 details before you schedule or rely on any study provider’s summary. Because Series 65 blends products, strategy, and adviser law, the most useful official references are the ones that combine exam format, content outlines, and candidate logistics.

Enrollment and scheduling

For Series 65 logistics, the practical sequence is:

  • a firm-affiliated candidate is usually opened through Form U4
  • an unsponsored candidate usually enrolls through FINRA’s Test Enrollment Services System (TESS)
  • after processing, FINRA generally opens a 120-day window to schedule the exam at a Prometric test center

Accommodations and candidate support

Use these pages when you need current accommodation rules, extra-time guidance, or scheduling support information.

These are useful if you are thinking beyond the exam date and want to understand how qualification status, lapse, or extension issues may affect future registration planning.

Use them in this order:

  1. read the FINRA Series 65 page for current exam logistics
  2. read the NASAA content outline to see what can actually be tested
  3. use enrollment and scheduling links when you are close to booking, especially if you are enrolling through TESS
  4. use validity or accommodation links only if they apply to your situation

If your commercial materials conflict with the NASAA content outline, trust the official outline first.
