Official NASAA and FINRA resources for Series 66, including exam overview, content outlines, enrollment, scheduling, accommodations, and validity references.

Use official sources to confirm current Series 66 details before you schedule or rely on a commercial provider’s summary. Series 66 is one of the places where candidates often misremember the relationship between the exam itself, the registration path, and the Series 7 co-requisite, so it is worth working from the source.
If you are unsponsored, review the enrollment instructions carefully rather than assuming the process works exactly like a firm-filed candidate request. For most candidates, the practical pattern is:
firm-affiliated candidates are typically opened through Form U4
unsponsored candidates usually enroll through FINRA’s Test Enrollment Services System (TESS)
once processed, FINRA generally opens a 120-day scheduling window for a Prometric test-center appointment
Series 66 validity questions are slightly more complicated because the exam is tied to both the Series 63 and Series 65 qualification logic. If you are thinking about lapse, validity, or extension, read the official pages rather than relying on a prep summary.
Best way to use these links
Use them in this order:
read the FINRA Series 66 page for current logistics and co-requisite language
read the NASAA content outline to understand what can be tested
use enrollment and scheduling links when you are close to booking, especially if you are using TESS rather than a firm-filed Form U4
use validity and FAQ pages for edge cases such as co-requisites, lapse, or extension issues
If a study provider’s summary of Series 66 conflicts with the official outline or FINRA’s current exam page, treat the official source as controlling.
