Series 34 Study Plan — 30, 60, and 90 Day Retail Forex Prep

Build a Series 34 study plan around retail forex terminology, calculations, risk, market concepts, participants, and regulatory requirements.

Series 34 is short, but it mixes vocabulary, calculation, market-structure, risk, and regulation. A good study plan keeps those pieces connected instead of treating them as separate flashcard piles.

Before you start

  • Confirm that your route is retail off-exchange forex, not broad futures or managed futures.
  • Read the FINRA Series 34 page and NFA study outline first.
  • Build calculation fluency early enough that the final week can focus on mixed application.

30-day plan

DaysFocus
1-5definitions, forex terminology, and retail-forex route context
6-10forex trading calculations
11-16forex risks and client-facing implications
17-22market concepts, participants, and economic factors
23-30regulatory requirements, mixed sets, and exact practice

60-day plan

Use the first month to build vocabulary, calculations, and market concepts. Use the second month for regulatory requirements, mixed practice, and timing under the 60-minute clock.

90-day plan

For a longer runway, rotate weekly through terminology, calculations, market concepts, and regulation. Spend the final month on mixed practice and miss review.

How to review misses well

Tag misses as terms, calculation, risk, market, or regulation. The best review asks whether you missed the forex concept, the math setup, or the regulatory consequence.

Final 7-day plan

  • Day 7-5: rebuild the five-part topic map from memory.
  • Day 4-3: do timed exact practice and review misses by tag.
  • Day 2: review calculation setups and regulatory weak points.
  • Day 1: light mixed review only.
